Instructions

  • Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray two loaf pans with non-stick cooking spray (or line them with parchment paper) and set aside.
  • Batter: In a medium sized mixing bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, poppy seeds, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs, milk, oil, and extracts. Stir the dry ingredients into the egg mixture just until combined.
  • Bake: Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pans. Bake for 55-65 minutes, until the loaves are a golden brown on top and internal temperature (I insert from the corner, pointed towards the middle of the loaf) registers at least 190°. Let loaves cool in pans for about 15 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
  • Glaze: In a medium size bowl combine the powder sugar, orange juice, both extracts, and the butter flavoring. Whisk well to combine. Drizzle the glaze over the top of the cooled bread. Sprinkle the glazed bread with a few sliced almonds, if desired. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
