HALLOWEEN POPCORN RECIPE

Halloween Popcorn made with a sweet, buttery candy coating then tossed with Halloween candy. It's the perfect festive treat!

Ingredients

2 packages microwave popcorn, popped (or 1/3 cup un-popped kernels)
½ cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
⅓ cup heavy whipping cream
3-4 different types of Halloween themed candy

Instructions

Pop your popcorn and remove any un-popped kernels. Pour the popcorn in a large bowl and set aside.
Combine the butter, sugar and whipping cream in a medium saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat and boil for about 5 minutes, stirring often.
Pour the mixture over the popcorn and stir well to combine to coat all the kernels. Add in Halloween candy- our favorites were candy corn and mini M&M's- and stir to combine. It's best when served immediately.
**I've also made this in the microwave. Combine butter, sugar & whipping cream in a large glass bowl. Microwave for 2.5 minutes, stir, then for an additional 2 minutes. Pour over popcorn, add candy.

Notes

Candy coated popcorn usually stays fresh for about 2-3 days at room temperature if it’s kept in an airtight container or sealed bag. The candy coating helps preserve the crunch, but over time it will soften.
