Ingredients

  • ½ cup Butter softened
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • ¼ cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Flour

Fudge Filling

  • 1 cup Milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 14- oz Condensed milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prep: Start preheating the oven to 375 degree F. Then, line two baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicon mat, set them aside.
  • Dough: In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter on medium speed for 20 seconds. Next, add in the sugar, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. Beat again until the mixture is combined and then beat in the egg, milk and vanilla extract until combined. Proceed to add in as much flour as you can and mix with the mixer. Then stir in the remaining flour using a spoon, until well combined.
  • Shape and bake: Once the dough has been formed, shape into 3/4 inch balls. To create each heart cookie, place two dough balls side-by-side on the parchment paper-lined cookie sheet. Proceed to press one thumb into each ball to make an indentation on each side. Then, taper the bottom of the cookie and slightly press down the middle divider between the two sides of the heart. Repeat with all of the remaining dough, you should end up with about 15-20 hearts, depending on the size of the balls.
  • Place the cookies in the preheated oven and bake at for 7-9 minutes. While the cookies cool, start making the fudge filling.
  • Fudge Filling: In a microwave safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk, heat for 1 minute. Check and stir, repeat heating for another 1 minute, until chocolate is fully melted. If not melted after 2 minutes, heat in 20-30 second intervals, checking after each time.
  • After the chocolate is melted completely, add in the vanilla extract and stir well to combine. Proceed to spoon the fudge filling into each cookie indent, and smear together to cover the top of the cookie. Serve immediately and enjoy!
