- 3 lbs drumsticks
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp cajun seasoning
- ½ cup honey
- 2 cups bbq sauce
- 7.5 oz can Dr. Pepper
- Parsley for garnish optional
Prep: Place the chicken drumsticks in a 4.5 quart (or larger) slow cooker.
Sprinkle the pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder and cajun seasoning all over the chicken.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, BBQ sauce and Dr. Pepper. Pour ¾ of the sauce all over the chicken legs.
Cook: Cover and cook on LOW 5-6 hours or HIGH 3-4 hours.
Broil: Right before serving place the drumsticks on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper.
Brush the drumsticks with the remaining sauce and broil under the broiler until they are caramelized. Be careful to not let them burn! Keep a close on them under the broiler, you just want to crisp them up a bit.
Garnish with parsley, if desired, serve and enjoy!
