Apple Pie Milkshakes

Caramel Apple Pie Milkshakes are made by blending vanilla ice cream with a homemade caramel apple sauce made with fresh apples! This delicious milkshake recipe is perfect all year long!

Ingredients

  • 2 apples peeled, cored, and diced very small
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch salt
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 scoops vanilla ice cream about a pint
  • 2 cups cold milk of your choice
  • Optional Toppings graham cracker crumbs, whipped cream, caramel sauce, and apple slices for garnish

Instructions

Make the caramel apple sauce:

  • Place a saucepan on the stove over low-medium heat.
  • Add the apples, butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stirring frequently, cook until the brown sugar has dissolved and the apples are softened.
  • Increase the heat to medium, add the heavy cream and vanilla extract to the pan, and cook, stirring constantly, until the liquid mixture resembles a thick caramel.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and set aside to cool completely.

Make the milkshakes:

  • Add the ice cream, milk, and caramel apple mixture to a blender.
  • Blend until just combined.
  • Pour into two 12 oz. glasses. Garnish with desired toppings, and serve.
