Spider Chocolate Chip Cookies

- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 1/2 flour
- 2 cups chocolate chips, semi-sweet
Spider Ingredients
- 24 dark chocolate melting wafers
- 24 chocolate chips, semi-sweet
- sprinkles, optional
Preheat oven to 350ºF
Cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar. Add egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
In a separate bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Add to the butter mixture one cup at a time mixing between.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Scoop onto a cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from the oven and place on a cooling rack.
Making the Spiders
While the cookies are still warm, place a melting wafer for the body and chocolate chip for the head on each cookie.
Using a toothpick, dip it in the melted chocolate and draw out the legs of the spider on top of the cookie. Place sprinkles in the melted chocolate for the eyes.
