Air Fryer Apple Fritters

Air Fryer Apple Fritters are fluffy on the inside and have a crunch on the outside just like a classic apple fritter. No oil needed for frying, and these simple pastries are even better when topped with a simple cinnamon glaze.

Ingredients

For the fritter batter:

  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 2 tbsp of butter melted
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp of granulated sugar
  • 3 tsp of baking powder
  • ½ tsp of cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp of nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp of salt
  • 21 oz can of apple pie filling

For the cinnamon glaze:

  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp of milk
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp of cinnamon

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and melted butter until fully combined.
  • Slowly whisk in flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. (The batter will be thick, this is normal.)
  • Pour apple pie filling onto a cutting board and cut apple slices in half.
  • Fold the apple pie filling into the batter.
  • Line your air fryer with a liner or cut parchment paper to fit the bottom of the basket.
  • Spoon fritter batter into the air fryer and leave 1 inch between each fritter. (You should be able to fit 3-4 at a time)
  • Cook at 370° F for 8-10 minutes or until golden and cooked through. Repeat until there’s no batter left.
  • Mix all of the ingredients for the glaze in a small bowl.
  • Allow fritters to cool, then dip in the glaze.
