Dark Chocolate Peppermint Cream Pie made with an Oreo cookie crust and filled with a creamy dark chocolate filling & topped with sweet cream! Rich and chocolatey homemade cream pie recipe with great peppermint flavor!

Ingredients

  • 25 Oreo cookies
  • 4 Tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 teaspoons butter
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces Cool Whip about half the tub
  • ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
  • ¼ cup crushed peppermints

Toppings

  • More crushed peppermint
  • Shaved dark chocolate

Instructions

  • In a food processor finely crush your oreos.
  • Add the melted 4 tablespoons of butter to the crushed oreos and blend again.
  • Press the oreo crumbs into the bottom and sides of a 9 inch pie pan.
  • In a medium microwave safe bowl combine the chocolate chips, 3 teaspoons of butter and milk and melt in the microwave in 30 second intervals until melted and smooth.
  • Pour the chocolate mixture over the crust.
  • Sprinkle ¼ cup of the crushed peppermints on top of the chocolate.
  • In another bowl using an electric mixer beat the cream cheese, sugar, sour cream and peppermint extract until smooth.
  • Fold in the cool whip.
  • You can spread the cream mixture on top of the pie or put it in a piping bag and pipe it on.
  • I top the pie with more crushed peppermints and some dark chocolate shavings.
  • Refrigerate overnight! Don’t skip this step! This pie needs the overnight chill to come together perfectly. Serve & enjoy!
