Chicken Lettuce Wraps

Chicken Lettuce Wraps made with chicken, water chestnuts, onion and garlic in a leaf of lettuce and then dipped in a delicious homemade Asian sauce. Easy chicken lettuce wrap recipe that is perfect as a low-carb appetizer or main dish.

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup sliced water chestnuts
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 4-6 leaves iceberg lettuce

Stir Fry sauce:

  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp rice vinegar

Asian sauce:

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 tsp red chili paste
  • 1-2 tsp hot mustard


  • In a large bowl, combine the ingredients for the Asian sauce. Whisk together and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the Stir Fry sauce ingredients and set aside.
  • Heat a large wok and add just enough oil to coat the bottom. Add the chicken and sauté over medium-high heat, until fully cooked through (internal temp of the chicken should be 165°).
  • Add the onion, water chestnuts and garlic. Saute another 3-4 minutes. Add the stir fry sauce and cook for an additional 30 seconds. Serve inside the iceberg lettuce and use the Asian sauce on the side for dipping.
