Sugared Asparagus recipe
Sugared Asparagus recipe made with brown sugar, butter and chicken broth. Perfect balance of sweet and savory for a simple asparagus recipe that is made on the stove in just a few minutes.
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 lbs fresh asparagus washed, patted dry and cut into 2 inch pieces
In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt and the butter and add the brown sugar. Add the asparagus and saute for 2-3 minutes.
Stir in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer for 8-10 minutes or until asparagus is tender crisp. Remove the asparagus from the skillet and continue cooking the sauce for another 3-4 minutes over medium-high heat. Pour over the asparagus and serve immediately.
