Glazed Apple Cinnamon Bread
Glazed Apple Cinnamon bread made with fresh apple, cinnamon & brown sugar, then topped with a simple vanilla glaze. Easy quick bread recipe with fantastic apple cinnamon flavor.
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 medium sized apple, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 1+ tbsp milk
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Grease a loaf pan and set aside.
In a large bowl cream butter, sugar, eggs and sour cream. Add in spices and flour, mixing just until incorporated. Fold in walnuts and apples. Pour into prepared bread pan. Note: the uncooked batter is thick.
Bake for 1 hour 30 minutes. Use a food thermometer to test that the internal temp of the bread is 200°F.
To make the Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar with melted butter and vanilla. Whisk in milk, 1 TBSP at a time until it's smooth and about the consistency of heavy cream.
Once bread is baked, remove from oven and let cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Overturn onto a cooling rack. Drizzle glaze over the top. Let cool and slice to serve. Enjoy!
