These tasty Peppermint Fudge Cookies cookies are perfect for the holiday season - who doesn't love easy brownie cookies covered in chocolate glaze and crushed peppermint?

  • Cookies: 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Chocolate Glaze:1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 Tbsp butter
  • candy canes smashed, for topping
  • Vanilla Glaze: 2 TBSP melted butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 TBSP milk


  • Cookies: Preheat your oven to 325°F. Microwave the cocoa, butter, and shortening for 1:30 to 2 minutes. whisk until the cocoa dissolves. Stir the sugar into the chocolate until well-blended. Stir in eggs and vanilla. Once those are incorporated add the flour and salt. Mix well and then stir in the chocolate chips. Drop by tablespoons onto a cookie sheet that is lightly greased or covered with a silicone baking mat. Bake for 12-14 minutes. You should be able to see the tops crack just slightly. Allow to cool for about 2-3 minutes before removing from pan. Let cool before topping with glaze.
  • Chocolate Glaze: Heat the cream and butter in the microwave for 2 minutes. Add chocolate chips and microwave for 30 additional seconds. Let mixture sit, then whisk gently until smooth. Let chocolate glaze cool for about 5 minutes, then take each cookie and spoon the glaze on top. Sprinkle with peppermint pieces. Let cool to set.
  • Vanilla Glaze: Whisk all ingredients together until smooth. Spoon onto top of cookies. Sprinkle with peppermint pieces. Let cool to set.
