GARLIC POPPY SEED SPIRALS

Garlic Poppy Seed Spirals are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. These cream cheese roll ups are made with a savory and creamy filling wrapped in a soft pastry, these spirals are both flavorful and satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans crescent rolls
  • 8 oz package cream cheese
  • 1 TBSP minced garlic
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 3 TBSP Poppy seeds and/or sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Prep: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
  • Filling: In a blender or food processor, combine and mix the softened cream cheese, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Taste test and add more garlic if desired.
  • Assemble: Pop open the cans of crescent rolls and proceed to pinch 2 of the triangles together to form a rectangle sheet. Repeat with all the rolls until complete.
  • Spread a spoonful of the cheese mixture on the rectangles of dough. After that, roll up each rectangle of dough starting at the narrow side. Slice into pieces about ½” thick- you should get several pieces per rectangle.
  • Dip each piece in either the poppy seeds or sesame seeds and place seed side up on the baking sheet.
  • Bake: Place the rolls into the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, until the rolls are golden brown. Let cool for 3-5 minutes, transfer to a serving platter and enjoy!

Notes

Garlic Poppy Seed Cream Cheese Spirals can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
If you want to store them for longer, you can freeze them for up to 2 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight, reheat in the oven for 10 minutes at 300 degrees F.
