Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz can apple pie filling, no sugar added
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons barbecue seasoning
  • 8 slices raw bacon cut into bacon bits
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 55 oz can Bush's Original Baked Beans

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°.
  • Add the apple pie filling, barbecue sauce, and barbecue seasoning to a blender or food processor and pulse until just combined (we just want to make the apples into slightly smaller chunks). Cover and set aside.
  • Cook the bacon and diced onion over medium-high heat in a large skillet until the bacon is browned and the onions are translucent. Remove the skillet from the heat. Drain the bacon grease until 1-2 tablespoons are left in the pan.
  • Place the apple pie mixture and the baked beans into the skillet and gently stir together with the bacon and onions. If your skillet is cast-iron and able to be put in the oven, you can just put the skillet in the oven to bake. Or you can pour the beans into a 9x13 pan to bake.
  • Bake the beans uncovered for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Serve warm and enjoy!
