Ingredients

  • 4 ounces Cream cheese softened.
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Half & Half
  • ¼ tsp Almond extract
  • 2-3 tsp Orange zest
  • 1 tbsp Orange juice
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg
  • 12 slices of a French bread baguette
  • Butter: Use to coat the bread with a thin layer of butter before toasting.
  • 1 ½ cups Berries: strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries.
  • ½ cup Chopped almonds toasted

Instructions

Prep

  • Start by toasting the almonds, place them on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degree F for 5-10 minutes. You want them just lightly toasted, keep a close eye on them so you do not burn them.
  • Wash, remove stems and dice the fresh fruit into small bite size pieces.

Cream cheese mixture

  • In a medium size bowl, combine the half and half and the softened cream cheese, mix until smooth.
  • Then, add in the sugar, almond extract, orange peel zest, orange juice, vanilla extract and nutmeg, stir until well mixed. Set aside.

Toast Bread

  • Grab a cutting board and slice the French bread baguette into 12 1" thick pieces.
  • Next, lightly butter both sides of each slice of bread and place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Broil on high for 1-2 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Watch closely so they do not burn!

Assemble

  • Let the bread cool for a couple minutes, then spread the cream cheese mixture on one side of each slice of toasted bread.
  • Then, add a couple pieces of each type of fresh fruit.
  • Next, sprinkle some of the toasted almonds on top of the fruit and bread.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!
