Peanut Butter Cup Brownie Trifle is a delicious and indulgent treat that everyone is sure to love. The flavors in this peanut butter brownie recipe are a match made in heaven, a perfect pairing of rich chocolate and nutty peanut butter.
Prep: Preheat the oven according to the brownie mix instructions. Lightly coat an 8X8 inch square pan with cooking spray and then line with parchment paper (spray the parchment paper with cooking spray also). Also, slice the bananas into ½" pieces and set aside for future use.
Make brownies: Prepare the brownie batter according to package directions.
Pour half the batter in the pan, and then top with peanut butter cups, gently pressing them down. Cover the cups with the other half of the batter and bake according to package directions. Let the brownies cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes. Transfer the brownies to a cutting board and cut into 1/2-inch squares.
Make whipped cream: In a large bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. This typically takes about 5-7 minutes. Also, if you want to sweeten the whipped cream up a bit, you can add 1/4 cup of powder sugar before whipping the cream.
Assemble: To assemble the trifle, create a layer of brownie bites, then slice bananas, next spread some whipped cream on top and then add some caramel on top of that. I did two layers of each and then sprinkled some of the peanuts on the very top.
You can either make about 8-10 individual trifles or put all the ingredients into a large trifle bowl. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Brownie trifle can last for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. However, it is best to consume it within the first 24 hours for optimal freshness.
