Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1 small green bell pepper diced
  • 1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 TBSP cornstarch
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 6 Buns

Instructions

  • Meat Prep: Dice your onion and bell pepper into small pieces, transfer to a large skillet.
  • Combine the ground beef with the onions and bell pepper, cook on the stove over medium-high heat until the meat is browned.
  • Drain the grease from the meat mixture and put it all into your slow cooker.
  • After that, add in the cornstarch, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  • Cook: Proceed to cook on low heat for 4-6hours.
  • About 15 minutes before serving time, place the sliced cheese on top of the meat mixture and let melt and then stir the sloppy joe filling and cheese together.
  • When you are ready to serve, scoop out the filling and place it onto your bread buns. Serve & enjoy!

Notes

To store, transfer meat to an airtight container and refrigerator for up to 3 days. 
To freeze the Sloppy Joes, let the meat cool completely and then transfer to a freezer-safe container or plastic bag. Label the container with the date and contents, and store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
