Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 can (12-ounce) evaporated milk
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Cook sauce: Combine the butter, sugar, cocoa, evaporated milk, and salt in a medium saucepan.  
  • Over medium heat, bring the mixture to a boil.  
  • Reduce heat to medium-low to maintain a low rolling boil for about 7-8 minutes, stirring quite frequently.  
  • Remove the mixture from heat and add the vanilla. The sauce will be thin, but it will thicken as it cools. Let it cool for a few minutes. 
  • Blend: Blend for 2-3 minutes.
  • Pour the sauce into jars or a serving container and use as desired. Serve over ice cream, brownies, cookies, or cake! Enjoy!

Notes

The fudge sauce should be stored in a tightly sealed container and kept in the refrigerator. This will help to prevent the growth of bacteria and keep the sauce fresh. If stored properly it will last up to 2 weeks.
