- 1 17.3 oz puff pastry sheet, thawed
- 1 21 oz canned apple pie filling
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp water
Almond Glaze Ingredients
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp almond extract
Preheat oven to 400ºF. Prepare baking sheet by lining with parchment paper
Roll out puff pastry dough and slice each sheet into four equal squares.
Place about 3 tablespoons of pie filling in the center of each square.
In a small bowl combine the egg and water and beat together.
Brush the egg wash onto one half of the square. Fold the dough over corner to corner, forming a triangle. Press the edges together with the tines of a fork to seal.
Place the turnover onto the prepared baking sheets. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and flaky.
To make the almond glaze, combine the milk, powdered sugar and almond extract in a bowl and mix to combine. Adjust the thickness of the glaze by adding more sugar or milk and stirring. Drizzle the glaze over cooled turnovers.
