Stir together the pretzel mix and yeast packet (included in the box) in a large mixing bowl. Add the hot tap water (120°-130°) and oil to the pretzel mix/yeast mixture and stir until thoroughly combined.
Cover dough and let rise for about 25 minutes.
Divide the dough into 8 sections and then roll each section into a 12" rope. I just used kitchen shears to cut each rope into about 12 inch long pieces. (Keep the sections you aren't using covered until just before rolling and cutting so that they don't dry out. Also, throw a clean towel over the pieces you've cut until all of them are ready.)
Combine 6 cups water with baking soda (included in the box) in a large deep saucepan until water boils. Using a slottted spoon, dip several pretzel bites into the boiling water. Let them sit in the water for about 5-10 seconds and then remove, letting the excess water drip off before placing the bites on a greased baking sheet (I actually just covered a baking sheet with parchment paper).
Bake for 8-10 minutes at 400°.
Melt 1/2 cup of butter in a small bowl and then dip each pretzel bite in the butter, using tongs. After all of them have been dipped in butter, use the tongs to dip each bite in the berry/sugar mixture before placing each of them on a plate. (If you immediately dip in the sugar mixture after dipping in butter, the sugar mixture will clump up and not coat as well, which is why I dipped all of them in the butter before starting on the sugar.)
