In reply to Val. I've honestly never tried to turn it into cupcakes before so I'm not sure how that would work.. perhaps just bake the chocolate cupcakes according to the package directions and then hollow out the centers for the caramel before adding the topping?

We have this every birthday, and love it but it is very rich. We’ve found that serving it with a little whipped cream helps.
