What is Snickerdoodle Fruit Dip?
This delicious fruit dip is made with cream cheese, butter, brown sugar, powdered sugar and cinnamon too! Add a couple other basic ingredients and create a delicious fruit dip that pairs perfectly with apples. Something about that apple and cinnamon flavor combination is just so amazing!
My kids love apples, so I’m always trying to find new ways to serve them, especially now that school is back in session and they always come home starving and ready for a snack! This dip uses ingredients that I usually have on hand and my kids love it! I think it really does taste just like snickerdoodle cookies, but my son insists that it tastes just like cinnamon rolls – either way, it’s delicious!

What to dip in cream cheese fruit dip?
We usually eat apples with this snickerdoodle dip because the strong cinnamon flavor in the dip pairs so well with apples, but this fruit dip is absolutely delicious with other types of fruit too – particularly bananas, pears and peaches.
You can also use this dip for graham crackers. Or even just eat it by the spoonful – no judgement here!

What types of apples are best with fruit dip?
I use Honeycrisp apples to dip because that’s what I usually have in stock in my fridge, but you could use any type of crisp, tart apple (Fuji, Pink Lady, etc). Basically whatever your favorite type of apple is – it will be even better when you dip it!
I discovered Honeycrisp apples a few years ago and ever since I tried them, I’ve become a bit of an apple snob. They are just so good! I never bought them before because they tend to be quite a bit more expensive, but I found a local grocery store near my home where they are usually only $.99/pound! Gotta love living in Washington state where the apples are plentiful – they are so big here too! Like twice the size of apples in other states I’ve visited!
How do you store fruit dip?
Cream cheese fruit dip dip needs to be stored in the refrigerator and it will stay good for 5-7 days. Generally cream cheese does not freeze very well, so this dip should not be placed in the freezer. This fruit dip recipe is so easy to make that you don’t really need to worry about making it very far in advance – it only takes a few minutes to put together and is ready to serve immediately if needed, although I prefer to serve it chilled.
How do you soften cream cheese?
Cream cheese is easy to soften – you can set it out at room temperature or soften it more quickly in the microwave.
-To soften at room temperature more quickly, just set the cream cheese on a plate and cut into smaller pieces. The cream cheese should reach room temperature in about 15-20 minutes with this method.
-To soften the cream cheese in the microwave, remove the foil packaging and set the cream cheese in a small bowl or on a plate. Microwave for about 10-15 seconds. If the cream cheese is still cold and hard, continue to microwave for about 5 seconds at a time until the cream cheese is soft throughout. Just make sure not to microwave it too long or it will start to melt!
How do you soften butter to room temperature?
The best way to soften butter is to set it out for a few hours before using it. Since most of us (or maybe just me!) aren’t that prepared or don’t think that far in advance, there are a few tricks to softening butter perfectly in just a matter of minutes.
My favorite way to soften butter is in the microwave. It’s definitely fast, but you do have to be very careful not to melt it – especially for this recipe since you only need 2 tablespoons! Just put the butter in the microwave (as long as it isn’t wrapped in foil!) and microwave for about 4-5 seconds. If the butter is still really cold, try another 4-5 seconds and check it again.
I actually prefer to use the defrost setting on my microwave – I don’t know exactly what that mode does differently, and it takes a little bit longer (10-20 seconds), but it seems to be easier to get the butter to soften without melting.

This sounds really yummy. When I first read this recipe there was also an tip on what to mix so the apples would not brown. Can you tell me what that was. Thanks and I love your site.

This is a nice “apple season” dip! The flavor is great and not too sweet. I made it for my Lady’s Bible Study group and will serve it with different colors and varieties of wedged apples, along with Honey Graham Dipper sticks. Yum!

So glad you enjoyed it Tammie! We love this dip too!

I made this for a work function and everyone LOVED it and had to have the recipe! I did tweak it a bit to make it healthier: omitted the butter, used 8 oz neufchatel cheese, and used Swerve brown sugar instead of real brown sugar but the rest i left the same. Still really tastes like a cookie!!!

Thanks for sharing Tahne!

Can I omit the Greek Yogurt or an alternative? We are big on it
Jessica says
You can replace the Greek yogurt with another type of yogurt.
