I made this following the directions exactly. I used fresh lemon juice as indicated. It baked evenly but then it fell slightly, in the middle, towards the end of baking. It cooled, I made the frosting and frosted it. The cake was eaten within the day. The frosting was delicious but did not have much of a lemon flavor. In the future I will use extract instead. The cake itself was a bit dry and not much lemon flavor. I would use extract for the cake flavoring as well.
All in all, it was a good experience but a bit disappointing due to the cake falling during baking and a low flavor of lemon. I am a grandma with tons of baking experience and I consider myself to be an excellent cook. I don't know why the cake fell in the center. I make lots of your recipes and never had a disappointment and I will continue making them!
