What i have learned from looking at sherbert recipes is you need one part flavor packet/element / one part sweetness sugar equivalent and 1 part milk equivalent. and i used almond milk and crystal light without sugar and the texture came out fine, would have probably been alot softer if i added sugar as well. or if you can stir while its freezing that will make the texture amazing

I did Crystal light packet and went sans sugar, Also i didnt have any milk so i just used almond milk. i didnt measure either i jsut kept adding packets and “milk” until i could taste the kinda sourness from the packet and then basically doubled it to fill my container, it was A NICE LIGHT RED COLOR

I feel some of your followers should be parodied on an SNL skit with their questions. It’s kool-aid, a powder that consists of 2 % flavor 98% sugar or substitute. It is a frozen treat thus freezing involved.

In reply to Terry. I'm so sorry you can't find Kool-Aid! I think you could probably use other drink mixes, but since they are pre-sweetened, you may not need to add as much sugar, or any at all! Please let us know if you experiment!

I’d love to try making this, but unfortunately, the only Kool Aid products available here anymore are ready-to-use drink boxes. I checked it out on Amazon, but you have to buy cases of 24 or 48, & by the time you add shipping to Canada, & do the dollar conversion – it works out to about $3/pkg. I’d gladly pay that, if I could purchase 1 or 2 of each of the flavors I want, rather than what they have pre-packed, but… And as none of the other ladies have family close by either, I’ll just have to sadly drool over the photos!

Unless…do you think Tang Orange Drink Mix, & Country Time Lemonade Mix, both pre-sweetend, would work? Definitely not the flavors I’d choose, but… Thanks! I’ll look forward to your reply.
