Sorry to hear that you didn’t like this recipe. Not sure what went wrong, but sometimes improperly mixing baking soda into a batter can cause waffles to turn out bitter tasting.

These waffles are incredibly tart. There is no sweetness to the flavor! Pure cocoa powder flavor. I even used milk chocolate chips. After the first set of waffles was done and I taste tested one, I threw it all away. I really hope this recipe is revised soon, the texture of the waffle was great.
